SEN. TOM COTTON (R-AR) TO SPEAK AT MISSOURI LINCOLN DAYS
JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Republican Party is pleased to announce Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) as the keynote speaker for the Friday banquet at Lincoln Days 2016.
“As an Iraq and Afghanistan War veteran and the youngest member of the U.S. Senate, Senator Cotton holds a unique perspective on the challenges facing our country both at home and abroad,” said John Hancock, Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party. “Lincoln Days presents an exciting opportunity for Republicans from all across Missouri to see some of the best and brightest in our party and we look forward to hearing Senator Cotton’s vision for the future of our nation.”
Senator Cotton has represented the state of Arkansas in the United States Senate since 2014 and previously served one term in the House of Representatives. Prior to being elected to congress, Cotton worked in business and was an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. Cotton was inspired to join the Army after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and completed combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Cotton has been an outspoken critic of the Obama administration’s handling of numerous foreign policy issues including ISIS, Iran and Guantanamo Bay. His advocacy for a stronger American foreign policy strategy led the Washington Post to dub him the “Star of the 2014 Senate Class.”
“Senator Cotton is an excellent figure to help us rally Missouri’s grassroots heading into the 2016 election season,” said Janet Engelbach, President of the Missouri Association of Republicans. “At a time when voters are increasingly worried about national security, I am confident that his personal story and message of American strength will resonate greatly.”
Missouri’s 2016 Lincoln Days celebration will take place February 26-28 at the Sheraton Westport in St. Louis. For additional details or to register, please visit lincolndays.missouri.gop.
