Two accidents occurred in Caldwell County, one serious

A serious accident happened on Thursday, March 17, in the westbound lane of U.S. 36, four miles west of Breckenridge, when a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Richard Thorsen of Bevier struck the back of a 2013 Kenworth tractor trailer driven by M. Serrano of Davenport, IA, as the Kenworth slowed for smoke that was across the roadway. Thorsen, 83, was transported by Life Flight Eagle to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City in serious condition. Serrano was uninjured.

Another accident occurred on March 19, six miles east of Cameron on N.W. Kerr Drive when a 2016 Yamaha ATV driven by John Fillmore of Richmond was southbound at a deep uphill angle and his ATV rolled backwards. Fillmore was ejected from the vehicle. He transported by Caldwell County EMS to Cameron Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.
