Braymer Bobcat win over North Mercer

North Mercer came to Braymer on Monday night to face the Bobcats.

It was a fast-paced game to start. Mercer pulled ahead with 2:36 left in the first quarter, but this would be the only lead of the night for them. Braymer came back ahead with a swished 3 from Dudley, then O'Dell put a lay-up in to go ahead by 4. Miller blocked a shot on the other end and the crowd was fired up. Braymer finished the quarter up by 2 led by Dudley and Miller with 7 respectively.

Braymer kept control for most of the 2nd quarter and went ahead by as much as 8. Mercer wasn't backing off and came within 1 with a little over 3 min. left in the half. Braymer's stellar defense picked it up and at half Braymer led 35 to 27. Dudley led in the 2nd quarter with 7.

Braymer came out of half and went up by as much as 14 at one point, but with a couple missed shots, Mercer decreased the lead to 8. With O'Dell's shooting and Miller leading the scoring in the 3rd with 5, at the end of 3, Braymer was up 51 to 40. Dudley swished a 3 to put the Bobcats back up by 14. Shoe followed with a lay-up to put the Cats up by 16. Mercer fought back and came within 12, with a couple of misses on our end. Miller hit a free-throw to put the Cats back up by 13. Braymer missed a few free-throws, Mercer capitalized on the other end. Then, Mercer got an old-fashioned 3 to bridge the gap to 8. Braymer's defense once again stepped up and stole the ball and with Shoe, O'Dell and Miller's free-throws, Braymer took the win 68 to 55.

O'Dell led the scoring in the 4th quarter with 6. Dudley was on fire with 23 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists. Miller had a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 blocks. O'Dell had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 5 assists. Shoe had 5 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal and 1 assist. Gates had 3 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 3 assists, and 1 block. K. O'Dell had 2 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block.
