Rick Ross and his Hamilton Hornets traveled to Bethany to face the GRC South Harrison Bulldogs last Tuesday night.
Penney High took control of this non-conference match up in the first eight minutes, leading 29-9 going into the 2nd quarter with Korby Ford scoring 10 first quarter points.
Wesley Pratt led the Hornets in a 15 point second quarter with 7 points. Hamilton led 44-30 at the half.
Penney blew the lid off this one in the 3rd quarter out scoring the Bulldogs 34-3. Telly Harper scored 11 points in the quarter and Mason McFall hit a couple from beyond the arc while Latroy Harper added 9 of his own.
Latroy scored all 4 of Hamilton's 4th quarter points in the 82-40 victory.
Latroy led all scorers with 21 points including 3 for 3 from the free throw line, stole the ball 4 times, rebounded the ball on 3 occasions, and assisted on 1 basket. Ford scored 14 (2 of 2 free throws), assisted on 4 buckets, recorded 2 rebounds, and stole the ball once. Telly was next with 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. McFall also scored in double digits with 11, rebounded the ball 3 times, and assisted on 1 basket. Jaran Richman scored 8 points, led the team with 11 assists, grabbed 5 rebounds, and stole the ball 4 times. Pratt had his best game as a Hornet scoring 7 points, securing 5 rebounds, and assisting on 2 baskets. Reed Henderson scored 4 points and was credited with 1 rebound. Derek Dixon scored 2 points, grabbed 2 rebounds, and stole the ball twice. Andy Ernat also scored 2 points, rebounded the ball once, and had 1 steal. Drake Brown rebounded the ball 3 times, and Garrison Dunham received valuable playing time. Kinser Corbett led South Harrison with 10. Penney made 9 of 15 from the charity stripe to Bethany's 10 for 17. Hamilton shot 70% from within the arc, were 5 of 8 from the 3-point line, assisted on 23 buckets, stole the ball 14 times, and turned the ball over 12. The Hornet record improved to 5-2.
