Last Tuesday the Lady Hornets traveled to Bethany to face the South Harrison Bulldogs.
Hamilton kept the game close through the first half, trailing 10-7 after the first quarter and 23-20 at the half.
The host team took control of this game in the third quarter, out scoring Penney 15-6 on the way to a 55-42 win for the Bulldogs. Meredith Clevenger led the Hornets with 17 points, scoring 9 in the second quarter and making both free throw attempts. Tegan Bruce also scored in double digits with 11. Mariah Blackburn was next with 9 points and making 5 of 6 from the charity stripe. Murphy Park went 2 for 2 at the free throw line, McKauley Prothero saw her first action of the season coming off wrist surgery and scored 2 points, and Kassie Moore hit a free throw. Mati Park, Cydnee Kipp, Lakota Johnson, and Skyler Adkison also saw action in the contest.
Hamilton hit 11 of 19 free throws compared to 7 of 13 for Bethany. Hunter Purdun scored 22 for the Bulldogs.
