Beware of IRS Scam

The Caldwell County Sheriff's office would like to inform residents of a scam that is happening around the county. Residents have been receiving calls from individuals stating they are from the IRS and requesting personal information. They have even stated if this information isn't given or not being cooperative with the caller that you will be arrested and sent to jail.

This is a SCAM! The IRS will not call you on the phone and solicit personal information from you nor threaten you with jail time. If you get a call like this, the best thing to do is just hang up. Never give personal information over the phone to unknown individuals.
