Hamilton woman injured in Livingston County accident

A Hamilton resident suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident in Livingston County Sunday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 24-year-old Samantha J. Hovey was transported by Chillicothe EMS to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe and later transported by LifeNet Eagle to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.

The patrol reports the accident occurred at 8 p.m. on U.S. Highway 65, half a mile south of Chillicothe.

Hovey was driving a 2001 Dodge Intrepid northbound when the vehicle crossed the center line, traveled off the west side of the highway, and overturned several times. Hovey was ejected from the car, which came to rest on its top facing south.

Hovey was arrested for driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, and no seat belt.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and Chillicothe Police Department assisted at the scene.
