Creighton J. Russell

Creighton “ C.J.” James Russell, age 31, of Cameron, passed away Nov. 25, 2020. He was born Jan. 29, 1989, in North Kansas City, to James and Jeanne (Reed) Russell.

C.J. was a graduate of Cameron High School, class of 2007. He was a US Army Veteran, serving in Iraq with the 82NDAirborne Division. C.J. worked at Ford Motor Company at the time of his death.

Preceding him in death are his maternal grandmother and grandfather, Jessie and John Olds; grandmother, Janis Reed; and cousin, Cassie Keller.

Survivors include his mother, Jeanne (Larry) Brown of Cameron; father, Jim Russell (Connie Johnson) of Gravois Mills; two sons, Braxton and Colton Russell, of the home; three sisters, Joz Morgan of San Antonio, TX, Heather (Jeremy) Clevenger of Chillicothe, and Brittany (Joshua) Perkins, Kansas City; brother, Michael Johnson of Crocker; maternal grandfather, John Reed of Homosassa Springs, FL; paternal grandparents, Dale and Dottie Russell of Kingston; four aunts, Julie (Ken) Keller of San Antonio, TX, Shelly (Dale) Fields of Winston, Michelle (Mike) Webber of St. Joseph, and Betty Jo (Chip) McKay of Maine; two uncles, Michael (Tracy) Russell of Cameron and Bill (Karen) Russell of Polo; and ten cousins, Jennifer, Charlie, Katy, Tyler, Abby, Andrew, Rachel, Ashley, Dylan, Chesney, Janis and Jackie.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Poland Thompson Funeral Home in Cameron. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Braxton and Colton Russell.
