Amy Harvey

Amy Marie Harvey, age 61, of Polo, MO, passed away Monday evening, January 10, 2022, at her home. Amy was born on Dec. 27, 1960, the daughter of William and Henrietta (Garrett) Allen in Independence. She grew up in Independence and was a 1979 graduate of Truman High School. She obtained an Associate’s Degree from the American Academy of Arts in Chicago. She was a self-employed artist and art teacher. Her gifted works are on display in many places. 

Amy married Robin Harvey on Feb. 1, 1997, in Independence. She was a member of the Polo Christian Church. Amy was a great encourager for her clients, students, parents of students, family, friends, and all of those whom she came in contact with. She was a woman of great faith and loved Jesus. Amy impacted many people’s lives and their walk with the Lord. She was full of life and the most fun adult many people had ever known; she loved having fun. Amy would run instead of walk; she was full of energy. She loved to make jokes and enjoyed playing games. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Bill Allen and Patti Wilson.

She is survived by her husband, Robin Harvey of the home; children, Ashley Jenkins (Derek) of Kansas City, Max Harvey of Polo, Whitney Hiebert of Ocean Park, WA, Brett Hiebert of Rochester, NY, and stepson, Christian Hope of Liberty; granddaughters, Enneline and Areli Jenkins; and siblings, Sue Petentler (Pete) of Independence, Bette Sellers (John) of Lake Tapawingo, James Allen (Chun) of CA, and Jan Willey of Kansas City. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other extended family members also survive. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Polo Christian Church in Polo. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Shirkey Hospice in care of the funeral home.
