Bill Kelley

Bill Kelley, age 87, of Polo, MO, passed away Friday afternoon, May 11, 2018, at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron. 

Bill was born on Sept. 12, 1930, the son of James Edgar and Ruby Jeanette (Yoakum) Kelley in Polo. He was a 1948 graduate of Polo High School. Bill served our country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Sophie in California, and to this union two children were born. They later divorced. 

Bill was an entrepreneur owning several businesses throughout his career, including the Cooking from Scratch restaurant in Polo with his late wife, Betty. He lived in various places including Dallas, TX and Garden Grove, CA. Bill returned to Polo in 1994. On June 17, 2003, he was united in marriage to Betty June (Reams) Teegarden in Plattsburg. Bill enjoyed sports cars and owned several over the years. He was a member and trustee of the Bethel Christian Union Church and a trustee of the Bethel Cemetery. Bill was also a member of the Polo American Legion Post #557. 

Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty; son, James Peter Kelley; sister, Lois Porter; and brother, Clifford Kelley. 

Survivors include his daughter, Darlien (Steve) Simos of Sarasota, FL; sister, Wanda Williams of Cameron; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Bethel Church near Polo, with Gregory Carroll and Kevin Williams officiating. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the services at Bethel Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers are Steve Kelley, Roger Porter, M.A. Porter, Kevin Williams, Brett Williams and Greg Williams. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Bethel Christian Union Church or the Bethel Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, 301 E.
