Bobby Lee Burns, Jr.

Bobby Lee Burns, Jr. passed away June 29, at Cameron Regional Hospital of COVID and complications. He was born on May 3, 1953, at Dr. I. E. Goldberg’s office in Braymer, the oldest child of Bobby Lee Burns, Sr. and Clara Maxine (Wooden) Burns. He was a graduate of Polo High School, class of 1971.

He was the worship master of the Cowgill lodge, and later Polo when Cowgill moved to Polo. He was also a member of O.E.S.. He gave Masonic lectures in a number of lodges in the state of Missouri.

He was married to Dora Leabo who survives of the home. He operated the maintainer for Lincoln Township for several years and also worked as a truck driver for Wayne and Amanda Goll of Cowgill, who owned the Polo lumberyard.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Clara Maxine Burns and her companion, Henry Kruse; one sister, Verna Brown of Cowgill; two brothers, Jerry (Linda) Burns of Clarkson, NE and Norman Burns of Dearborn; one nephew, Jeremy (Danielle) Burns of Platte City; two nieces, Brittany Burns of North Hollywood, CA and Ashley Burns of Kansas City; and three great-nephews of Platte City.

Due to COVID, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
