Carlos Wayne Dorrel

Carlos Wayne Dorrel passed away peacefully from this world to heaven on Jan. 3, 2019, at the age of 99. 

Carlos was born in Oyer, MO, on May 25, 1919, to George and Blanche Porter Dorrel. He moved to Hamilton at the age of nine then moved to Birmingham, MO, and back to Hamilton.

Carlos served in the Army Air Corp from 1942–1945 in WWII on the island of Tinian in the South Pacific. He married Nancy Silvey on Jan. 12, 1949. The couple would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on Jan. 12, 2019. Carlos and Nancy farmed, raised their family and retired in Hamilton, moving to Liberty in 1999.

Carlos will be deeply missed by his wife Nancy; son, Wayne Dorrel (Ann) of Hamilton; daughter, Carol Graham (Ken) of Liberty; grandchildren, Bryan Dorrel (Crystal), Leslie Dorrel, Erin Talley (Justin), Elissa Bottles (Tyler), and Josh Graham (Jodie). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Clevenger; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Wanda Shrock and June Edwards.  The family is grateful to the compassionate staff of Great Lake Hospice, especially Amber, Taci, and David, for their love and care during Carlos’ last days.
