Charles Edward McCray

Charles McCray, age 70, from Savannah, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at his home in Savannah. He was born March 22, 1945, in Quonset Point, RI, to Millard and Marjorie (Wallace) McCray.

Charles graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in education, and then attended Northwest Missouri State University and received his master’s degree. He taught Ag 29 years in the Rosendale and North Andrew Consolidated School Districts. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, sports, hunting and fishing.

Charles is survived by one sister, Sarah (Jim) Stark of Stilwell, KS; cousins, Mary Chirnside of Lincoln, NE, Sue and Tom Olson of Bartlesville, OK, Larry and Molly Doll of Colorado, and other cousins; close friends, Dean Swofford and Bill Myers, both of Savannah, and Jack Hilsabeck of St. Joseph.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Andrew Consolidated School District.
