Charles Howard (C.H.) McIntosh

Charles Howard (C.H.) McIntosh, age 89, of Hamilton, MO, passed away on June 15, 2017, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron.

Mac was born on Nov. 4, 1927, near rural Maysville, to Howard and Vernita (Ruddell) McIntosh. He graduated from the Hamilton High School in 1945. After graduation he served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp 5th Division.

Mac managed the Winslow Feed and Service for many years in Hamilton and farmed. He was a very active member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, where he served as a lay minister, church board member, Sunday school teacher, and cook/member of the Men’s Wednesday Prayer Breakfast group and cooked for many other church events.

Mac also was a very active member of the community. He performed in theatre productions at the Hamilton Community Arts Theatre, he announced Hamilton/Penney Hornet home football games for 36 years, served on the Hamilton R-II school board, and was a member of the Northwest Missouri Gas & Steam Engine Association, where he ran the concession stand for many years and also was the lay preacher for the Old Country Church services on the fairgrounds. Mac was a 50 year member of the Hamilton Masonic Lodge #224 and had served as the Master in 1968, he was a Boy Scout Troop #70 committee member and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say in which he was honorary warrior Prairie Wheat, he was a member of the Hamilton Clark-Craven-Bothwell & Eads American Legion Post #285, and served as Post Commander from 1990-1992, was the Honor Guard Sergeant for funeral services for many years, the secretary/treasurer of the Legion Park Board since 1995, and was honored by his fellow legion members with the Lifetime Service Award for his merit and service to Post #285.

On Feb. 27, 1949, he married Darlene Winslow in Hamilton, and she preceded him in death in 2005. He was also preceded by his parents and two brothers, Lloyd McIntosh and Glyndon McIntosh.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlene McIntosh of Hamilton; son, Chuck (LeDonna) McIntosh of Maryville; granddaughter, Bren (Pell) Duvall; grandson, Clifton McIntosh; and great-grandson, Indigo Duvall.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church. A formal visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, just prior to the service at the church. Friends may call at the Bram Funeral Home on Sunday, June 18, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton with military honors. Memorials may be made to the Hamilton United Methodist Church, the Hamilton American Legion Post #285, or the Penney High School Winslow Ag Award.
