Charles LeRoy Dickerson

Charles LeRoy Dickerson, age 66, a resident of Braymer, MO, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Charles was born the son of Cordis Filando and Lura Maxine (Vaughn) Dickerson on Jan. 14, 1953, in Kansas City. He was a 1971 graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City. Charles was united in marriage to Marjorie (Benz) Phipps on March 8, 2003, in Martin City. She survives of the home.

Charles worked as a truck driver for Waller Trucking for many years. He was a member of the Braymer Baptist Church in Braymer. He enjoyed square dancing, gardening, singing, farming, and raising chickens.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of the home; one son, Nathaniel Dickerson of Vinita, OK; one daughter, Rosabelle Neal of Vinita, OK; two stepsons, Gary Phipps, Jr. of Kansas City and Paul Phipps of Avondale; one stepdaughter, Katherine Stambaugh of Norborne; one grandchild; five step-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Jean Bradford of Porterville, CA and Shirley Ardrey of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Charlotte (Bunch) Dickerson; and two brothers, Jimmie Dickerson and Hershal (Buddy) Stephens.

A memorial service will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church in Braymer on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, Aug. 10, one hour prior to the service. Friends may call the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Friday, Aug. 9, from noon until 5:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
