Donald Wayne Oyler

Donald Wayne Oyler age 76, a resident of Braymer, passed away Wed, April 3, 2024, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, MO.

Donald was born the son of Vernon Wayne and Wilma Louise (Ellis) Oyler on Oct. 31, 1947, in Polo. He was a 1966 graduate of Stet High School.  He enlisted into the United States Army in 1966, and was discharged in 1972. Donald was united in marriage to Sandy Johnson April 26, 1968, at the preacher's house, in Millville. She survives of the home. He worked as a feed salesman and area feed manager for MFA Agri Services in Columbia, for 35 years.  He also farmed for many years.

Donald was a member of the Braymer Lions Club.  He was also a member of the Hale Tractor Pullers and the Braymer Tractor Pullers, of which he was the President. Donald loved his grandchildren dearly and taking a good nap. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed giving away the items from his garden. Donald was very, very ornery and loved playing tricks on people, this was how he showed his love for you.

Donald is also survived by four daughters, Sherri Cox of Chillicothe; Jill Distler and husband Darrell of Chillicothe; Kristin Rader and husband Corey of Braymer; and Meagan Jones and husband Richie of Braymer; thirteen grandchildren, Courtney Houston of Bismarck, ND; Brooke Distler of Brookfield; Cole Distler (Sophia) of Peculiar; Jacob Cox (Jordan) of Braymer; Jordan Sexton (Ryan) of Independence; Kayla Distler (Nick Inman) of Eureka; Logan Distler of Chillicothe; Aydan Rader and Jace Rader of Braymer; and Talon Jones, Cayson Jones, Alayna Jones and Aisley Jones, of Braymer; four great grandchildren, Noah Houston, Hunter Cox, Madelynn Sexton, Crimsyn Distler, and one on the way; siblings, David Oyler of Hardin; Jeannie Pulliam (Steve) of Richmond; Janet McNelly (Kenny) of Hardin; Catherine Sadler (Ronald) of Liberty; and Jamie Oyler (Ella) of Lee's Summit; and several nieces and nephews. Donald is also survived by his fur babies, Chloe and Teddy of the home. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Carolyn Pugh; brother-in-law Wayne Pugh; and niece Kyla Pugh; one brother Rick Oyler; and sister-in-law Sheila Oyler; father-in-law Walter Lyle Johnson; sister-in-law Terri Johnson; and brother-in-law Jerry Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at Braymer Christian Church in Braymer, on Fri., April 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Braymer Christian Church, Braymer, on Thurs., April 11, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Friends may call at Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, on Thurs., April 11, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Tait Park for memorial benches and may be mailed to or left at Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.
