Donald Wayne Walker
Donald Wayne Walker, age 80, of Springfield, MO, passed away on Oct. 26, 2020, in Springfield, surrounded by his family.
Don was born in Hamilton to Dick Walker and Arlene (Holbrook) Walker on July 10, 1940. He attended Penney High School and graduated in 1958.
He worked at Remington Arms. He served in the US Navy from 1958 to 1962. Later he experienced God’s call to ministry and graduated from Southwest Baptist University in 1980. He graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1988. He worked many years as a Southern Baptist preacher.
He enjoyed fishing, reading, praying, shooting, watching the Kansas City Chiefs play, and visiting with family.
Don married the love of his life, Nancy (Taylor) Walker in 1962. To this union were born two children, Dwayne Richard and Patrick Lane.
Don’s parents, Dick and Arlene; one brother, Melvin Walker; and a sister, Ann Walker preceded him in death.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; two sons, Dwayne (Debbie) and Patrick; and grandson, Preston.
Don will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
