Douglas LeRoy Herrick

Douglas LeRoy Herrick, age 70, a resident of Braymer, MO, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer.

Douglas was born the son of Joseph Cloyce and Mildred (Macko) Herrick on Sept. 7, 1948, in Iowa. He was a 1966 graduate of Breckenridge High School. While growing up, he worked in his father’s store in Breckenridge. He owned and operated Herrick’s One Stop for 30 years, and was a great supporter of the Braymer community during that time.

Douglas was a member of the Braymer Baptist Church in Braymer. He loved his family, friends, community, and church. When his health would allow it, he loved golfing.

Survivors include three daughters, Genelle Walters (Rob) of Braymer, Melika Baumgarten (Mark) of Chesterfield, and Cassie Cummins (Matt) of Parkville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, David Blair of Salt Lake City, UT; one niece; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Becky Blair.

Cremation was held. There are no scheduled services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Braymer Baptist Church Missions Fund and/or the Braymer Christian Church NYR Fund, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
