Edward P. Schmidt

Edward P. Schmidt, age 59, of Cameron, MO, passed away July 15, 2017, at Cameron Regional Medical Center.

Ed was born on Jan. 17, 1958, to Richard and Gloria (Bailey) Schmidt. He was a 1976 graduate of Penney High School in Hamilton. He spent 15 years in the US Army in the Military Police 31 B. After his honorable discharge, he became a local area police officer. He was the CEO of Lone Pine Enterprises Inc. Ed was a graduate of Missouri Western University, where he studied criminal justice and majored in business management. He was a member of the 40/8 and American Legion and held multiple leadership roles within both Hamilton and Cameron. Ed was also a former Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the city of Cameron and a former Foreclosure Caller for Missouri Closures.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his children, Rachel Schmidt and Kevin Schmidt, both of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Sarah, Joshua, Kendra, Summer, Lindsey, Faith, Emma, and Ashton; sister and brothers, Janet Daniel of Garden City, KS, Bob Schmidt of Liberty, William Schmidt of Kentucky, Andrew Schmidt of Kansas City, and Karl Schmidt of Bikeville, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton, with military honors to follow. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, at Bram Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. Memorials may be made to the Disabled Veterans. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Online condolences may be left at www.bramfuneralservices.com.
