Glenda C. Lana

Glenda C. Lana, age 66, of Polo, MO, passed away Nov. 18, 2019, at her daughter's home in Polo from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Glenda was born on Jan. 17, 1953, in Polo, the daughter of Doris and Imogene (O’Kelley) Carter in Polo. Her sister Beverly and brother, Mark followed. She was a lifelong resident of Polo and a 1971 graduate of Polo High School.

On May 3, 1975, she was united in marriage to Richard Lana in Richmond. She worked at Shirkey’s Nursing and Rehab in Richmond, and later at Mid America Enterprises in Plattsburg. Glenda was a member of the Polo Christian Church and enjoyed attending there. She had a strong Christian faith. Glenda will be remembered for her laughter, easy smile, the love for her family and her loyal dog, Stanley. She will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Lana was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mark Carter.

Survivors include her husband, Richard of Polo; son, Jason Lana of Polo; daughter, Rachel (John) Nichols of Polo; sister, Beverly Trayler of Cameron; seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Katherine, Brian, Alexis, Hailee, Jeff and Jacob; and one great-grandchild, Rowan. Other extended family members also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Polo Christian Church in care of the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Polo Christian Church. A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., one-hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, at a later date.
