Hubert “Bert” Zeikle
Hubert “Bert” Zeikle, age 77, of Polo, MO, passed away Thursday night, Dec. 10, 2020, at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond. Hubert was born on Dec. 24, 1942, the son of Roy and Jimmie (Knutter) Zeikle in rural Polo.
Bert grew up in Polo and was a 1960 graduate of Polo High School. He was a member of Prairie Ridge Church. He served several years in the Army National Guard. Bert was a computer operator for Social Security, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the US Army. Family was most important to Bert. He enjoyed sports, Rock n’ Roll and dancing. Bert loved and cared about all of his family and friends. He had a gentle, caring soul that will be missed by many.
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Andrew Zeikle.
Survivors include his brothers, Chuck (Judy) Zeikle of Independence, Aaron (Louise) Zeikle of Topeka, KS, and Ralph (Bonnie) Zeikle of Polo; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
The family will have a private graveside service and no family visitation at this time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A public memorial service is planned for a later date. Friends may call from noon until 7:00 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 18, at Stith Family Funeral Home in Polo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Prairie Ridge Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
