John Robert "Bob" Swafford

John Robert "Bob" Swafford, 82, Hamilton, passed away on June 8, 2023, at KU Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.  Bob fought Non-Hodgkin's Mantle Cell Lymphoma for 14 years.  

Bob was born on April 10, 1941, in Polo, to Thomas Woodrow and Evelyn Wade Blakely Swafford.  He graduated from the Polo, high school in 1959.  Bob honorably served his country in the Missouri Air National Guard for 6 years.  He was a self-employed carpenter and farmer.

Bob was a former member of the Hamilton Saddle Club, and he enjoyed putting puzzles together.  His family provided the most enjoyment to him and he loved to tease them and entertain them at the farm.  

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and four nieces.

On June 12, 1965, Bob married Peggy Jean Lamb at the Hamilton Baptist Church.  They celebrated almost 58 years together.  She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include; Daughter, Teresa Bethel (John); Granddaughter, Ashley Green (Jake), Great-Grandchildren, Makenzie, Kylie and Kelsie Green; Grandson, Christopher Bethel; Daughter, Julie Zorn; Grandson, Eric Zorn (Elissa); Great-Grandchildren, Caden, June, and Brooks Zorn; Grandson, Wyatt Zorn (fiance Carolyn Jennings); Great-Grandchild, Vivian Zorn; Son, Robert Swafford (Dorothy); Grandchildren, Jacob, Madison and Jackson Swafford; Brother, David Swafford; and several nieces and nephews..  

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m., Tues., June 13, 2023, at the Hamilton Baptist Church in Hamilton.

Formal Visitation is at 12:30 p.m., until 2 p.m., on Tues., at the church.

Interment is located at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton.

Memorials may be made to the Caldwell County Foundation Cancer Assistance Fund in care of Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
