Judith Ann Gardner
Judith Ann (Judy) Gardner, age 79, of Kingston, MO, departed us on Aug. 21, after struggling with stage 4 cancer. Judy was born Aug. 4, 1942, the daughter of Dale W. Shaffer and Anna Elizabeth (Stephens) Shaffer in Jackson County. She was a graduate of Polo High School in 1961. On Nov. 22, 1975, she was united in marriage to Charles Junior Gardner with Bob Barnett officiating. They built a new home in Mirabile and have always resided there.
Judy had worked several different jobs over the years: The Extension Office in Kingston, as secretary at Mirabile School, the Vista Coordinator in Hamilton, the Hamilton Advocate office, and she served as the Community Development Director, as well as working for the City of Hamilton. She was most happy when making and selling crafts, browsing antique stores with Junior, and reading and cooking. She had beautiful penmanship and never lost that talent. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Judy was a Christian and attended Mirabile Community Church and helped with the Mirabile Ladies Aid.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Stan.
Survivors include her husband, Junior Gardner, of the home; brother, Bob (Joyce) of Kearney; sister-in-law, Ruby Robison of Hamilton; sister-in-law, Carolyn Shaffer of Cowgill; and nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 25, at the Mirabile Community Church in Mirabile at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church and just prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Mirabile Cemetery in Mirabile. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Mirabile Community Church or Mirabile Ladies Aid. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton.
