Leonard “Lenny” Lewis Witthar

Leonard “Lenny” Lewis Witthar, age 65, of Polo, MO, entered eternal life Sept. 13, 2016, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Lenny entered this life Jan. 9, 1951, the son of Leonard Warren and Margaret Mary Donahue Witthar in Fort Jackson, SC. 

He grew up around Liberty and attended Liberty High School. Lenny moved to Polo in 1994. His employment included equipment operator and supervisor for the Missouri Department of Transportation, Brothers Conoco in Liberty, and machine operator for Decker Realty in Kansas City.

Mr. Witthar was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary McKinley; and a grandson, Robert Lee Moran.

Lenny leaves behind his daughters, Crystel Witthar of Pleasant Valley and Sandra Witthar of Liberty; sons, Leonard Witthar of Kearney and Brandon Witthar of Kansas City; sisters, Pat (Gary) Pendergrast of Polo, Kay Pendergrast of Lawson and Gracie (Clyde) Smith of Lathrop; brothers, Danny (Beverly) Witthar of Kearney, Tom Witthar of Mobile, AL, John Witthar of Lathrop, Bill (Suzanne) Witthar of Kearney, and David (Wanda) Witthar of Carrollton, MO; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Stith Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Polo. Interment will follow at Prairie Ridge Cemetery west of Polo. The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
