Leota Mildred Case
Leota Mildred Case, age 88, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Leota was born the daughter of Leo and Hallie (Whitney) Jones on August 11, 1927, in Polo. She was a 1945 graduate of Braymer High School. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Case on Aug. 15, 1954, in Chillicothe. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2003. She worked as a seamstress for Lambert Glove Factory for 34 years, until her retirement in 1986. Leota enjoyed gardening and working on the farm.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Hisel of Braymer; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren; and one stepdaughter, Delores (Neal) Smith of Higginsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; and two stepsons, Lawrence Case, Jr. and Gary Case, Sr.
Graveside services will be held at Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe on Friday, May 13, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe on Thursday, May 12, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe on Thursday, May 12, from noon until 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.
