Linda Mae Bolling

Linda Mae Bolling, age 86, a resident of Cowgill, MO, passed away on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at her residence.

Linda was born the daughter of Alva H. and Grace F. (Eller) Hickman on April 23, 1935, in Kansas City. She earned her Bachelors of Art degree in Theology. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Bolling on July 18, 1952, in Harrison, AR. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2017.

Linda owned and operated multiple businesses. Linda served as a pastor for many years. She was a founding member of the Gospel Christian Center in Cowgill. She enjoyed working all over their farm. Linda served as past president of the Women’s A Glow. She loved cooking, and could make anything taste good. She also loved sewing, writing books, newspaper, and magazine articles, art, and painting, which she learned from her mother. Linda home schooled several of her children over the years. 

Survivors include four sons, Glen Alan Bolling (Lisa) of Cowgill, Gilbert Wayne Bolling (Beki) of Polo, Lewis Dale Bolling of Cowgill, and Ben Aaron Bolling of Polo; four daughters, Charline Renee Uchtman (Dennis) of Carthage, Charlotte Arlene Walker (Robbie) Hoyt of Kansas, Wanda Darlene McBee (Sonny) of Cowgill, and Linda Karlene Smith (Robert) of Dodge City, KS; 34 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert Bolling; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; and one brother, Dan Hickman.

Funeral services will be held at the Gospel Christian Center in Cowgill on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Gospel Christian Center in Cowgill on Saturday, one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer on Friday, Sept. 24, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Black Oak Cemetery in Cowgill. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gospel Christian Center, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO  64601.
