Marilyn Joann (Wetzel) Adair (Jo)


Marilyn Joann (Wetzel) Adair age 90, a resident of Rocklin, CA, passed away peacefully on Wed., May 3, 2023 in Roseville, CA after a brief illness and hospitalization. She spent her last waking hours with her two sons Jeffrey Scott Adair and Todd Elliott Adair by her side. 

Marilyn (Jo) was born to William Jewell (Petree) and Kenneth Frank Wetzel on Mar. 5, 1933 in Braymer. She graduated from Braymer in 1951 and moved to California where she met and married her husband Gary Lavern Adair on Nov. 6, 1954 in Burlingame, CA. They made a home in Redwood City, CA, where both sons were born and later moved to Lincoln, CA in 2000, JO them moved to Rocklin, CA in 2020 after Gary’s death in 2012.

Jo worked as an Executive Assistant for many years, then worked for her son Jeffrey in his business in Menlo, CA before moving and retiring to Lincoln. Jo was an avid golfer in earlier years and then an active member of PEO, Antique Club, Travel Club, Bunco, Hand & Foot groups and board games with her many friends. A wonderful mother, wife, sister and friend, she remained very active in her son’s lives over the years and traveled often. 

Survivors include her two sons; Jeffrey Scott Adair (Craig Kozlowski) of Rancho, Mirage, CA and Todd Elliott Adair of Portsmouth, VA; as well as two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding Jo in death were her parents as well as her brothers and sisters, Kenneth Dean Wetzel, Clara Delores (Wetzel) Walker, Gerald Bruce Wetzel, and Carole Madolyn (Wetzel) Silva.

Services to be held June 4, 2023 at 2 p.m., at Ansell Park Clubhouse in Rocklin, CA.

Memorials may be made in Joann Adair’s name to Compassion Planet in Roseville, CA.

Funeral Home in charge of Services is Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
