Mary Ann McNarie

Mary Ann McNarie, 93, Hamilton, MO., passed away on April 16, 2023, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton.  She moved to Hamilton in 1950.

Mary was born on Nov. 16, 1929, in Cole County, to Julius Henry and Barbara (Sommerer) Engelbrecht.  She graduated from the Eugene High School in Cole County and attended college for two years.  She worked alongside her husband on their farm.  She was a charter member of the Caldwell County Historical Society and a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church. 

On June 10, 1950, she married Leonard McNarie at the Honey Creek Lutheran Church in Cole County. 

He preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, and two sons-in-law.

Survivors include two daughters-Jan Schawo, Warrensburg, and Cindy Asher, Hamilton; son-Alan McNarie, Hawaii; and a grandson-Aidan McNarie, Eugene, OR.

Funeral Service was held at  11 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church sanctuary, Hamilton. 

There is no formal visitation scheduled, but friends may call at Bram Funeral Home on Wed., April 19, from noon until 5 p.m. 

Interment is located at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Caldwell County Historical Society or the Hamilton United Methodist Church in her memory.
