Mary Louise Gentry

Mary Louise Gentry of Polo, MO, passed away Thursday evening, March 4, 2021, at her daughter's home in rural Kingston. She was 99 years old.

Mary was born in Mirabile on July 3, 1921, the daughter of Robert Burns and Fern Estelle (Sackman) Corbett. Mary was a 1939 graduate of Mirabile High School. After high school, she worked for Montgomery Ward as a fill order clerk. On July 3, 1941, she was united in marriage to Von R. Gentry. In addition to being a homemaker and farmwife, she worked at Gentry Farm Supply in Mirabile. Mary was a member of Prairie Ridge Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and baking pies. Mary was a loving mother and grandma. She loved the color red, cardinals, chickens, and when she had her little dogs, Buffy and Jack. Mary will be dearly missed by all.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Von Gentry; her parents; son, Rob Gentry; siblings, Blake Corbett, Lloyd Corbett, Billy Corbett, Marvene McNary, and Betty Ayres; and great-grandson, Nicholas Gentry.

Survivors include her son, Steve Gentry of Polo; daughter, Linda Kay (Joe) Pitman of Kingston; daughter-in-law, Judy Gentry of Polo; sister-in-law, Jean Gentry of Mirabile; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kelli) Gentry of Polo, Scott Gentry of Polo, Penny (Chris) Copeland of Cowgill, Jamie (Aaron) Phares of Lawson, and Gina (Jason) Peoples of Polo; great-grandchildren, Lily, Maverick, Kelsi (Seth), Jack, Sammie Jo (Jon), Sidney (Ashton), Shelby, Mary, Brendan, Jasey, and Arey; great-great-grandchildren, Troy and Olive; dearest friend, Mary Chowning; and numerous relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Prairie Ridge Church west of Polo. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial to follow the services at Prairie Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Prairie Ridge Church or Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
