Mildred Margaret Bachtel

Mildred Margaret Bachtel, age 92, of Salisbury, MO, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at her home. Mildred was born Sept. 26, 1923, in Salisbury, the daughter of Daniel A. and Henrietta (Schulte) Arnsperger. She married Clyde J. Bachtel on Feb. 2, 1946, in Columbia. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2006.

Mildred was a graduate of Salisbury High School and attended the University of Missouri. Mildred lived in Bella Vista, AR and Hamilton, MO, before moving back to Salisbury in 1992. She was a member of the Salisbury United Methodist Church and Chariton County Historical Society.

Mildred is survived by three sons, Howard (Elizabeth) Bachtel of Apollo, PA, Edward Bachtel of Salisbury, and Earl (Vicky) Bachtel of Yuma, CO; sister, Mary Louise Morrissy of San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren, Candace Marshall and Chris Weber; four great-grandchildren, Will and Ashley Marshall and Chandi and Jayci Weber; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Leroy, Elmer and Edward Arnsperger; and sisters, Ellen Richardson, Gertrude Arnsperger, Edna Mae Lauman, and Carolee Comes.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Salisbury. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, at the church. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Salisbury. Services are under the direction of Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury.
