Patricia Ann (Simpson) Bruce

Patricia Ann (Simpson) Bruce, age 80 of Hamilton, went to be with the lord on Feb. 1st, 2022, at her home. Patty was born June 22nd, 1941, the daughter of Donald J. Simpson and Anna Mae "Trumbo" Glick in Chillicothe.  In 1959, Patty graduated from Breckenridge High School. Growing up she loved playing basketball and enjoyed her senior trip to Rockaway Beach. On Oct. 29th, 1960, she married Richard Bruce in Hamilton. Patty lived most of her life in the Hamilton area and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. During the 1960's she worked at Stride Rite Shoe Company. In the late 1980's and early 1990's she worked for the Hamilton School as a cook.  Patty loved helping in the community; she organized two St. Jude Bike-A-Thon events that helped children with cancer. Patty also helped with different scout organizations. Some of her favorite pastimes and hobbies were sewing and making clothes. Patty loved to garden and grow flowers. She loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kimberley A. Conkling (her 5 sons survive) and infant son, David A. Bruce; brother, Donald J. Simpson, Jr.

Survivors include husband, Richard of the home; children. Douglas Bruce and his wife, Debbie of Kingston, and their three daughters, Phil Bruce of Kingston, and his 3 sons, Kris Bruce of Hamilton, and his son and daughter, Ben Bruce and his wife, Crystal of Kearney, and their 4 sons; sisters, Pam Berg and her husband, Jim of Blue Springs, and Tomasine Glick of St Joseph; Later in life she discovered she had more siblings around Oregon who she also loved very much; 17 grandchildren: Brandon, Darrick, Kyle, Isaac, Haileigh, Tiffany, Taryn, Tegan, Cory, Chase, Tyler, Kate, Kedrick, Conner, Wyatt, Rhett & Emmett.  Numerous great-grandchildren and other extended family members also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Rose Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Breckenridge.
