Paul Leslie Toon
Paul Leslie Toon, age 86, of Independence, MO, passed away on March 26, 2017, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron.
Paul was born on July 3, 1930, in Hamilton, to Roy and Cora (Galpin) Toon. He was a 1948 graduate of the Hamilton High School, and then he received training for appliance repair. He worked for and retired from Hartley’s in Lee’s Summit, as an appliance repairman.
Paul served his country honorably in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1954.
Paul was a season ticket holder for the Comets soccer team and enjoyed attending their games, and he loved roller skating. He was a member of the YMCA, where he also enjoyed being a member of the Silver Sneakers Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Roger Vessar; and brother-in-law, William Vessar.
Survivors include his sister, Margie Vessar of Cameron; niece, Connie Vessar of Missouri; nephew, Gary (Becky) Vessar of Tanneyville; and niece, Sheila Vessar of Parkville; four great-nephews; two great-nieces; two great great-nieces; and two great great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron.
