Raymond Whitaker
Raymond Whitaker, age 88, of Cameron, passed away on Aug. 14, 2018.
Raymond was born on Oct. 21, 1929, to Lyle and Ella Mae (Botts) Whitaker.
Raymond was a 1947 graduate of Cameron High School. He farmed and worked as a school bus driver for 43 years with the Cameron School District, before retiring.
He was a member of the St. Munchin Catholic Church of Cameron, an avid sports fan, and was a past member on the Cameron Cooperative Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents; married his wife, Monica Murphy on August 18, 1948, who passed away in 1995; son, Joe; infant daughter, Mary Ellen; brother, Richard; and son-in-law, Monty Biggerstaff.
Survivors include two sons, Lyle (Kelly) Whitaker of Macon and John (Cindee) Whitaker of Hamilton; two daughters, Martha (Jerry) Gates of Cameron and Julie Biggerstaff of Gladstone; daughter-in-law, Joyce Whitaker; 19 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Raymond was loved and known by all. He loved his family. They will miss his sense of humor and his story telling,
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at St. Munchin Catholic Church in Cameron. A Rosary will be held at 6 p.m., with visitation following from 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the church. Burial will be at St. Munchin Catholic Cemetery in Cameron. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Munchin Catholic Church and/or to the Missouri Veteran’s Assistance League of Cameron.
