Ronald “Ronnie” H. Tospon

Ronald “Ronnie” H. Tospon, age 78, of Kingston, MO, passed away on Jan. 18, 2021, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron. Ronnie lived in Kingston all of his life. 

Ronnie was born on Oct. 22, 1942, in St. Joseph, to Ott Junior and Elizabeth Laverne (Lotz) Tospon. He graduated from the Polo high school, and then served his country in the Army National Guard. 

Ronnie went to work for the Department of Defense in Lawson as a dog handler and then became self-employed, as well as working for others doing bulldozer and backhoe work.  He retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation and then worked as the road grader operator for Gomer Township, Cowgill, Nettleton, and most recently, Hamilton.  Ronnie was also the City Marshall for the town of Kingston for many years and helped start the Kingston Fire Department. 

Ronnie was a person who liked to stay busy. He enjoyed taking his dog each day to the Conoco station in Hamilton for ice cream. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ronnie married Doulla Wiggins Towne on Nov. 13, 1999. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include his daughter, Samantha Schaffer of Hamilton; four sons, Teddy Tospon of Kingston, Michael (Katie) Towne of Uniontown, KS, Dino (Tracy) Towne of Lathrop, and Deme (Sarah) Towne of Centralia; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Marsha Holt of Polo; two nieces; first wife, Judy Tospon of Hamilton; and his two dogs, Mickey and Mia. 

Cremation is being entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to an animal shelter of the donor's choice in memory of Ronnie.
