Shirley Ray Pawsey

Shirley Ray Pawsey, age 92, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Hamilton and Nettleton, passed away on Jan. 6, 2021, at the New Mark Care Center in Kansas City.

Shirley was born on Dec. 25, 1928, in St. Joseph, to Artie and Virginia (DeShon) Pugh. She graduated from the Kidder high school. Shirley was a co-owner of ITCO farm supply store in Hamilton with her husband and worked alongside him there many years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and her grand-dogs.

Shirley married Robert H. “Bud” Pawsey on Dec. 17, 1950, at the Kidder United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death in 2018. She was also preceded by her parents.

Survivors include her daughter, Jan (Steve) Ulmer of Smithville; sister, Margie Gibson of Arkansas; and two grand-dogs, Baxter and Oaklee.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A graveside inurnment service will be held later this Spring at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton.
