Justice Is Not Always Blind
Fellow Americans,
Have you ever seen a statue of Lady Justice? She is found in many courthouses and government buildings across America. She holds a balanced scale, is armed with a sword, and is blindfolded. Her blindfold, scale, and sword are symbols of objectivity, fairness, and authority under the law. This means all citizens are to be treated equally and fairly by our judicial system. Sadly, at times our courts have strayed from the Constitution and allowed personal bias to rule. Consider the following examples:
· Religious liberty--in 1962, the U.S. Supreme Court declared it unlawful for public schools to encourage student prayer. The Court twisted the meaning of the Establishment Clause in the 1st Amendment to fit their personal biases against religion. One year later, the Court banned bible reading in public schools and Ok’d the teaching of evolution. Today, the owner of a bakery gets sued and demonized for not catering a gay wedding!
· Abortion--in 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court “legalized” abortion. The Court ruled that a mother’s right to kill her baby overruled the unborn baby’s unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Why is one life more important than the other? So much for equal justice under the law, not to mention the immorality of MURDER!
· Illegal immigration--recently, President Trump signed a lawful executive order temporarily banning NON-CITIZENS from certain countries from entering into America for national security reasons. Sadly, a Seattle federal judge and a three-judge panel from the San Francisco-based 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overruled Trump. The justices’ decision wasn’t based on the Constitution. It was based on emotions and politics, much like the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision backing President Harry Truman’s forced relocation and incarceration of thousands of AMERICAN CITIZENS of Japanese descent in 1942!
The lawlessness of activist judges has set a dangerous precedence. Congress can and should impeach these political judges, and should impose term limits on all federal judges. Please, do your own homework and study the Constitution. Contact your elected representatives and remind them who they work for and that you vote! Visit www.conventionofstates.com and read Mark Levin’s book, The Liberty Amendments, to learn how we can regain control of our government and preserve liberty for future generations. May God bless you and the United States of America!
