Gabe Rogers snags a pop fly

Bobcats win over Longhorns

Tuesday, the Bobcats traveled to Maryville to face the Platte Valley Longhorns.

In the first inning Gabe Rogers got on with a base hit. Keaton O'Dell was walked and Rogers stole third and then was put out trying to steal home. Logan O'Dell was out on a pop fly. Jordan Miller was hit by a pitch. Drake Parker  walked loading the bases with two outs and Tanner O'Dell was struck out. In the bottom of the inning a base hit and two walks loaded the bases. The next batter hit into a double play putting out the runners at home and first base. The two left on base made it home on a single over second. The next batter grounded out to Jordan.

The second inning, Robbie Shoe struck out. Jake Gladieux reached second on an error by the short stop. Corbin McCulley was hit by a pitch and Gabe walked loading the bases. Keaton struck out and Logan was out on a pop fly to second base. The Longhorns finished the inning three up and three down.

Third inning Jordan opened with a single to center field then stole second. Drake reached first on an error and Jordan moved to third. Tanner hit a single bringing in Jordan and moving Drake to third. Robbie hit a grounder for an out but moved Drake home and Tanner to third. Jake hit to center and was out as part of a double play. The score was now tied at 2 all. The Longhorns got 2 on base with 2 outs and then hte fifth batter struck out.

In the fourth inning Corbin got a single and Gabe got on with an error. Keaton grounded out. Logan then hit a 2 RBI home run. Jordan flew out to center. Drake got on. Tanner hit a single then was put out on a fielders choice to end the inning. Longhorns again didn't score giving the Bobcats a 5-2 lead.

The fifth inning saw the Bobcats leave two batters stranded. The Longhorns came back scoring 3 runs to tie up the game.

The sixth and seventh innings had neither team scoring forcing an extra inning. Logan and Jordan both walked, Drake got a single sending Logan home. Tanner hit to second causing Drake to be out on a fielders choice but allowing Jordan to make it home. Robbie then hit into another fielders choice that put Tanner out. Platte Valley was only able to bring one runner across home plate. Braymer took the win 7-6.

The JV game followed. The Bobcats were only able to get three batters on first base in four innings. The Longhorns were able to score 7 runs.
