Hamilton Hornet golf team which placed 2nd at the Class 1, District 7 Tournament at the Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond

Ethan Green is District Medalist

The top two golf teams at District move on to the Sectionals.

One of those teams is Penney High, coached by Adam Summers. Although the Gallatin Bulldogs won the Class 1, District 7 Tournament at Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond on May 2nd, Hamilton Hornet golfer Ethan Green claimed medalist honors by shooting a 4 over par 75 and leading Penney to a second place finish and a trip to the Sectionals. Hamilton's Wyatt Gregory placed 4th with an 84, Quinn Brown came in 7th with a 90, and Caden Brown shot a 95, good enough for 11th. Nick Hartley tied for 16th. As a team, Penney shot a 344, eleven shots behind the Bulldogs.

The Hornets are scheduled to play at the 7137 yard par 72 Mazingo Lake Golf Course just outside Maryville on May 9th. The top two teams and the top 12 individuals not on a State qualifying team will advance to the State Tournament on May 16th and 17th at the Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa.
