Hornets to State Track Championships
Coach Rick Ross will be headed to Jefferson City with six men and 4 women as they compete in the State Track and Field Championships this Friday and Saturday. Brock Swindler led the Penney High men's team to a 2nd place finish behind Lathrop in the Class 2 Sectionals at Albany on Saturday with three individual first place finishes and as a member of the winning 4 x 400m relay. Derek Dixon will also be competing in four events at State after anchoring the Sectional Champion 4 x 400m and 4 x 800m relay teams plus a 3rd place finish in the open 400m and 800m races. The Lady Hornets will advance with a third place finish in the 4 x 800m relay and Jessica Noble's runner up position in the open 800m run. Following are those competitors at Sectionals who scored points for Hamilton. Those placing in the top four in each event advanced to State.
