Lady Hornets Knock West Platte Out of Lawson Tourney

Coach Jordan Richman's Lady Hornets defeated the West Platte Bluejays on their way to the consolation game against Gallatin.
Penney High led 13-5 after the first quarter and 22-15 at the half. West Platte cut the Hornet lead to three, 33-30, heading into the final 8 minutes. Hamilton would prevail 51-47.
Meredith Clevenger led the Hornets with 14 points, followed by McKauley Prothero's 12, Tegan Bruce with 8, Kassie Moore's 6, Cydnee Kipp with 5, Mati Park's 4, and Mariah Blackburn with 2.
The Bluejay's Karen Knox led all scorers with 18 (six 3-pointers). Penney made 12 of 24 free throws to 10 for 15 by West Platte.
