Lady Hornet's season ends

Hamilton's Lady Hornet season came to an end in the District Championship game at Lawson Saturday afternoon as the Lady Mules prevailed 4-0.

Lathrop scored 2 runs in the bottom of the first and single runs in the 2nd and 5th. Sydney Bottorff pitched 6 innings, allowing 6 hits and 2 earned runs while walking 1 and striking out 2 in the loss.

Lathrop pitcher B. Huitt gets the win, striking out 9, walking none, and allowing only 1 hit, a double by Georgia Gibler in the second inning. Mati Park was the only other batter to reach base for Penney when she made it to first base on an error, then stole both 2nd and 3rd in the third inning.

Coach Jim Dickey and the Lady Hornets had another positive, and entertaining season with a very good final record of 18-8, and a District Championship appearance. Dickey had this to say after the Championship game. "They are a great bunch of girls and I enjoyed working with them. Congratulations on a good season."
