Lady Hornets Win over Plattsburg

The Lady Hornets, coached by Jordan Richman, got the evening started on the right foot with an eleven point victory over the Lady Tigers. 

Kassie Moore scored 7 first quarter points helping Hamilton take a 9-6 lead after one quarter. Penney would extend their lead at the half, 19-13. Both teams struggled to score in the 3rd, each ending the period with 5 points, but the Lady Hornets out scored the Tigers 15-10 in the final eight minutes, 6 by McKauley Prothero, for a 39-28 win.

Moore led the winners with 11 points while grabbing 8 rebounds and stealing the ball 3 times. Prothero scored 7 points, rebounded the ball 6 times, and recorded 2 steals. Meredith Clevenger also scored 7 points, hitting all 3 free throw attempts, led her team in steals with 4, and snared 3 rebounds. Tegan Bruce scored 4 points and led the team in rebounds with 12. Mati Park scored 4 points, stole the ball twice, and registered 2 rebounds. Mariah Blackburn scored 3 points, secured 5 rebounds, assisted on 1 basket, and stole the ball once. Cydnee Kipp also scored 3 points on a three pointer in the third quarter, was credited with 4 rebounds, and handed out 1 assist. Skyler Adkison got 1 rebound in limited action.

The Lady Hornets hit 16 of 32 free throws. Plattsburg was led by Destinee May with 9 points, and the Lady Tigers hit 8 of 19 free throw attempts.
