Polo junior Gunner Martin won his first match by Fall in 3:47 over Warsaw's Nate Fauquier, and his second, also by Fall, in 2:17 against Matthew Schneader from Lexington, putting him into the semi-finals. In the semi-final match Martin would end up on the short end of a 3-2 Decision to the eventual State Champion in the 220 weight class, Max Darrah from Whitfield.
Gunner would bounce back in his next two matches, first defeating Ethan Staton (Carrollton) by Fall in 3:24, and finally Tanner Lueckenhoff (Blair Oak) by Fall in 2:05 to claim the 3rd place medal. The Panther wrestler finished the season with a record of 44-7.
Hamilton's Jacob Roberts, a junior wrestling in the 120 class, was defeated by Fall in 3:46 by Valle Catholic's Cody Stoll in his first match. Roberts would fight back, winning his next match by Fall in 4:15 over Kooper Wilson from Versailles, and followed that up with another win by Fall, this time in 0:55, over Herculaneum's James Todaro. In his final match, Jacob lost a close 4-3 Decision to Blake Schmidt from Father Tolton Catholic of Columbia who finished in 5th place.
Roberts finished the season with a record of 35-10.
Penney High freshman Radley Reed competed in the 106 class at this year's State Tournament. After loosing to eventual State Champion Max Roark (Seneca) by Fall in 0:48 in his first match, Reed would win his next match by Fall in 0:58 over Lutheran St. Charles' Nicholas Grosso. Radley's next match was against James Jury (Brookfield) who won by Fall in 2:42. Reed finished with a 34-13 record.
Another freshman, Derek Aikin, wrestled in the 132 class for the Hornets. Derek would loose to 2nd place finisher Alex Hollingsworth (Lexington) by Fall in 1:27, and Kolby Estes from Warsaw by Fall in 1:18. Aikin ended the season with a 27-23 record.
Garrett Tropser competed in the 285 class for Hamilton and faced the eventual 4th place medalist Bradley Williams (Lutheran St. Charles) in his first match which ended with a loss by Fall in 1:07. Garrett's next match was against Blair Oak's Chance Cumpton who won by a 9-4 Decision. Trosper, a sophomore, finished the season with a record of 32-12.
